Installing First Thursday

Instructions on how to install the First Thursday app on your desktop or mobile device, and how to log in for the first time

Written by Callum Hale-Thomson

Welcome to First Thursday! This guide will walk you through how to access and install the platform on both desktop and mobile devices, so it’s always just one click away.

💻 Desktop (Mac recommended)

  1. Use Google Chrome — it’s the most compatible browser for installing the app.

  2. When prompted by Chrome, click “Install” to save First Thursday as a standalone app on your computer.

  3. Log in with your gallery email address.

    • If your email doesn’t work, please ask your gallery admin to grant you access.

  4. You’ll be sent a PIN number to your email.

    • This is your two-factor authentication code.

  5. Enter the PIN, and you’ll be logged into the platform.

Alternatively, if you have a Google Workspace or Gmail account, you can log in using Google Sign-In instead of a PIN.

📱 Mobile (iPhone recommended)

⚠️ First Thursday is not available in the App Store – installation must be done via Safari.

  1. Open Safari and go to platform.first-thursday.com

  2. Tap the Share icon (the square with the arrow) in the centre of the bottom menu bar.

  3. Scroll down and tap “Add to Home Screen”

  4. First Thursday will now appear as an app on your home screen.

    • It runs faster and more smoothly than visiting the browser version each time.

  5. Log in with your gallery email and follow the same steps to receive and enter your PIN code (or log in with your Google account).
