You can now connect your Mailchimp account to First Thursday, making it easy to sync contacts directly into your Mailchimp audiences with just a few clicks.
🔗 Step 1: Generate your Mailchimp API key
Log in to your Mailchimp account
Use the search bar to search for API
Click on the top result: API Keys
Scroll down to the section called Your API Keys
Click Create A Key
Name the key First Thursday and click Generate
Copy the generated key and send it to the First Thursday team so we can complete the integration for you
🔐 Your API key is private — don’t share it with anyone else or post it publicly
⚙️ Step 2: Sync a contact to Mailchimp
Once your Mailchimp account has been integrated:
Open any contact profile in First Thursday
Click the Export button at the top
Select Sync to Mailchimp
Choose the Mailchimp audience you’d like to send the contact to
Click Add to complete the sync
That’s it — the contact will be sent directly to your chosen Mailchimp audience.
✅ What happens next
The contact will be automatically marked with a Mailchimp tick so you can see who’s been synced
If the contact already exists in Mailchimp, we will not create a duplicate
